Keeping the New, New

A New Thing

Isaiah 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Heb. 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

2 Cor. 5: 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Attack of the Old

Romans 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

“A Battle of Natures”

2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

7 Sure signs the old is overcoming the new

  1. You’re avoiding the house of God and the people of God

  2. You make excuses to justify fleshly behavior

  3. You’ve lost your joy

  4. You’re not open to correction

  5. The word of God no longer convicts you to the point of change

  6. Worshiping God is not longer a sweet retreat for your soul

  7. You’ve lost hope

    When the new becomes old

    Heb. 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

    Psalms 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

    Psalms 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

    Jer. 31:25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
